Project types

You can use project templates in Rentman. By using project templates you can accelerate you project planning. 
With project types you can make sure that you load the right settings in a project and later on distinguish between these types in your overviews and statistics.
This article will explain you how to set up your project templates and project types and how to use them.

Project templates
The best way to create a new project in the project module would be to use one of your project templates. A project template is a project with many information already entered that you just set on a new date. This way you have settings, equipment, crew and transport functions, groups, times and notes already filled and planned in. 

Set up project templates
If you want to set up a project template you have to create a project first in the project module. You can plan this project as detailed as you like and then save it. Afterwards go to the configuration and open the tab "project templates". Here you can create a new project template by clicking on "add" and giving a name (for example "Festival" or "Dry hire"). Search for the project that you initially created and want to use as a template and select it. If necessary you can still do changes to this project. After saving you can use this project template in the project module every time you create a new project.

The below picture shows you where to find the respective button.  

Use project templates
Go to the project module and use the drop-down menu next to the "add"-button. Here you can see a list of all your project templates. Now you can select one of these templates to create a project on base of this template. 

Project types
For every project you also choose a project type. With project types you can distinguish between different kind of projects. Every project type can have a different setup like a specific quotation template and invoice template that is used by default as well as a standard letter head.  
By using project types you can easily have the right settings for your project. This also makes it easy for you to differentiate between certain types of projects in your overview and in statistics. 

Set up project types
Go to configuration > project types to set up your project types.

With each project type you can preset the following information:

Name: Give this project type a name like "Dry hire", "Sale" or "Festival"
Letter head: Select a certain letter head that will be used as a standard
Invoice moment: Select a standard invoice moment for this project type

Use project types
When creating a new project you also define a project type. Project types can help you to filter or sort your project overview so that you can e.g. only show project with the project type "Dry hire". 
This way you can also have a look at your statistics module and see which project type generates the highest revenue.
